LOIS KLASSEN

Lois Klassen produces collective-action projects, performance, video and installation works. Since 2001 she has hosted Comforter Art-Action, an ongoing material response to human displacement that has involved over 200 individuals and groups from over 20 countries, recently featured at The Glenbow Museum’s Sew City, Calgary (2009). Previous work includes: Banff New Media Institute Liminal Screen Residency (2009); Richmond Art Gallery (2008); CityScape (North Vancouver, 2008), VIVO Media Arts Centre (2006), The Western Front (2006), Transportale (Berlin, 2003), and aceartinc (Winnipeg, 1999). She is currently an artist in residence with the Means of Production Artists Raw Resource Collective at the MOP Community Garden in Mount Pleasant.

MAGGIE WINSTON

Maggie Winston is a Puppeteer/ Performance Artist, originally from Baltimore and a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, NY. Artistic Director of Lost and Found Puppet Co, Maggie presents stories  through live object-animation. Her puppet shows and performance pieces have been featured in Earth(ling): A Festival for Youth, Activism, and Art, BC Buds, Vancouver Fringe Festival, Memelab, The Western Front, Blim, In the House Festival, Walking Fish Festival. Maggie is a participant in Comforter Art Action and other DTES projects such as Vancouver Moving Theatre and Downtown Eastside Music Theatre Society.
